SDA Church Mckinleyville Is A Christian Denomination

By Joshua Hall

Man is by nature religious. Religion and belief are ingrained deep in his DNA. That is why since the dawn of time, humans have invented all manner of religions all because of the desire for spirituality. Of course, the dawn of Christianity marked a turning point in the world of religion. Presently, Christian believers are everywhere. There are in Far East countries and also in Far west nations. Christian believers include members of SDA church Mckinleyville. It is good to be a Christian believer. One needs to believe in something. Belief in religion is one of the best things on earth.

There are many Christian nations. Many countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa are firmly based on Christianity. The United States is of course the most prominent Christian nation in Western hemisphere. However, there is freedom of religion in this part of the world. One will find many Americans who believe in other religions rather than Christianity. There are American Jews and Muslims.

SDA is uniquely American. It has its headquarters in US. Most of the early Adventist missionaries were American. On the other hand, Catholic has its headquarters in Rome, Italy while Anglican Church is based in United Kingdom. Actually, the Western world has contributed a lot in the spread of Christianity although presently most Christians on planet earth are found in Africa, South America and Asia.

SDA is American in every sense and respect but Adventists come from different walks of life, races, professions, and countries. Anyone irrespective of creed or nationality can become an Adventist. Seventh Day Adventist is a Christian denomination. However, it differs from the other denominations when it comes to the day of worship. For the case of Adventists, it is Saturday.

In Adventism, there is no book that is more superior to the Bible. That is also the case with the other denominations. It is believed that the Bible is inspired and holy. According to the Holy Bible, heaven and earth will pass away but no single Bible message will go without being fulfilled. That has been the case in every Biblical scenario.

The Bible has the Old Testament. That is simply the old covenant. There is also the New Testament that covers the new covenant and it is considered as the bedrock of Christianity. The Old Testament is full of prophesies by major and minor prophesies. The New Testament is simply the fulfillment of prophesies and the plan of salvation.

In any Adventist church, the message comes straight from the Bible. That is the reason why Adventists usually condemn sin using the strongest term. Before one becomes an Adventist, he has to repent his sins and be baptized. Baptism marks the beginning of a new life that should be characterized by holiness and righteousness. In case one stumbles, there is the need to repent.

The history of Christianity is very rich. It spans thousands of years. The New Testament or rather the new covenant might be around two thousand years. However, the old covenant that was given to the Jews that is explained in Old Testament is not less than five thousand years. In simple language, the concept of Christianity is as old as time.
