What Does The Resurrected Babylonian Head Represent?

By Donna Watson

All the books that give an account of end times have several verses reserved for the antichrist. Different words and descriptions are used with the most common being the dragon or beast. In the narrative by Daniel, he mentions it in his story on the seventieth week. The best person to refer to on the story of the resurrected Babylonian head is John the Apostle. He uses both the Revelation and his three letters to pass the message.

The first mention of the beast is in Revelation chapter 13. The description of that of Satan with ten horns and seven heads. It makes six appearances, each to represent a single head. These are representations of two entities that will be manifested during end times. There will be a kingdom or empire on one hand and a person on the other.

The origin of the beast is both from sea and land. The kingdoms that have ruled the world so far are Persia, Greece, Rome, Egypt and Syria, among others. God brought brutal kingdoms to punish Israelis whenever they went against his will especially through idolatry. The oppressive kings set out to separate the tribe of Judah or Israel from God. The ultimate rule will be by the final beast that will be very oppressive and destructive.

Verse 3 of Revelation 13 says that this beast has a fatal wound but it appears to have healed. Just like a warrior who is celebrated for his survival marks, this beast is followed throughout the world with amazement. The explanation is given in Chapter 17. It is also worth mentioning that there is a woman who appears alongside the beast.

In chapter seventeen verse eight, the dragon dies and resurrects. This is an indication that it is more of a kingdom than person. However, people do not die and resurrect on daily basis. The only possible explanation is that of a conspiracy in the present world. Further, can God kill an oppressor and cause him to rise from abyss?

The book of Thessalonians gives a clear explanation of how and why God would cause the resurrection of a tyrant. The aim is to create a delusion with the aim of punishing people who fail to believe in him. The idea is to cause them to adore this resurrected beast that will lead to their death. These are the intentions and actions of the antichrist.

From the history of the world, six kings and kingdoms have already ruled. Their names have been mentioned before. Concern is on the seventh. The seventh king is the one to rule for not more than three and a half years. He will then descend to the abyss and rise with destruction. Verses nine to eleven of chapter 17 are very clear on that.

One can only conclude that the eighth empire is the Islamic rule. Its death proclamation and destruction meted on anyone who does not follow Islamic dictates are predicted actions of the antichrist. The only persons who will be safe are those whose believe is in the Son of Man.
