Irish Red Cattle Has Become Very Popular

By Patty Goff

In every house hold there is at least one form of meat in the freezer. Not many are fazed about where the meat they eat is from of what it might contain, but for some people it is important to know information about the food especially the meat they eat. A much known source of meat will be the Irish Red Cattle, it is known for its good quality beef.

It is very important as a farmer to make sure the cattle stays pure breed to insure the quality of the meat is a high quality. And nothing, but the best for those whom choose to enjoy the meat the farmer has to offer. This is something called a line breed this is a type of cattle that is only consists of the black and red cow for the past forty years.

Think of it as the saying people use when explaining the quality from a product. As a farmer producing this wonderful and tasteful meat you would want to service enterprise and not compromise as some would say. You can taste quality no just by the way it was prepared but by the way the animal was looked after and maintained.

Secondly you need to do research and study the different ways of breeding the animal that you are planning to breed and on a later on stage use for production. It is important to have test done to make sure that the animals breed with their kind to ensure a good quality. As many research has confirmed that pure breed.

Meaning the same animal that is fed and treated the same and living in the same condition. Being maintained the correct manor and receiving the correct feedings and proteins during the pre- production process. These simple things need to be taken into consideration as well.

Starting from the very beginning as a farmer specifying in the cattle industry you must be aware that sometimes you will have a one out of every fifth production line will not be a hundred percent pure breed. Sometimes genes don't get passed on properly and can cause a defect. This does not mean that the animal wouldn't be able to be used for meat purposes.

Some may be of an average quality and others of a much lower quality. And this can be so frustrating to the buyer as well as the seller. You all know perfection is impossible.

It is very true that a small percentage is not suitable for the strong genetic line to produce good meat but it is as low as two percent. The number of the low genetic breed reduces yearly and farmers are working on it to prevent it completely. It is all about what the animals are fed and looked after that makes a difference to the quality and the breed is maintained and well kept under observation as it has been for over fifty years.
