How To Experience The Country Like A King Or Queen With Egypt Nile Cruises

By William Fuller

If you love traveling, but you've never been to Egypt yet, you are missing out on a superior travel destination. Going on one of the nearly four hundred Egypt Nile Cruises gives you a chance to live like a queen or a king for a number of days. To go back to a lifestyle long forgotten and at the same time enjoy the magnificent sunshine of Egypt.

Although some of the shorter trips set off from Luxor, most start from the capital, Cairo. This huge megalopolis is an enchanting mix of the ancient and the modern. Spend a day at the Khan el-Khalili market and you will feel that you've been transported back to hundreds of years ago. The Egyptian Museum, where you can view real mummies in their original condition, is another must see. And of course you can't leave Cairo before visiting the Pyramids of Giza on the outskirts of the city.

Once you've boarded your boat, you will be transported to a world of luxury. The food is varied and delicious - a mix of oriental and Western. Your nights will be filled with watching belly dancing or a variety of other shows. And during the day you can relax in your air-conditioned cabin or spend time on deck watching the Egyptian countryside going through its paces like it has been doing for centuries.

Your tour will no doubt stop at the temples of Esna, Edfu, Luxor and Kom Ombo. These imposing remnants of a civilization long gone must be as fascinating to visit today than they were a thousand years ago. The cruise will end in Aswan, where you can take a day trip to the modern wonder of the Aswan dam.

There are a wide selection of Nile cruises available to suit every pocket and taste. If your time and/or budget is limited, you can opt for a 3 day cruise from Luxor to Aswan and back. Otherwise take the full tour from Cairo to Aswan. You have to choice of returning with the boat or flying back. Al exciting alternative is to take a sleeper train to Cairo.

Dressing up on these Egypt Nile cruises is not really the norm - except maybe for the Captain's ball. Otherwise jeans and a t-shirt are perfectly adequate. The important thing here is to have fun and to return to wherever you came from with new vigor and energy.
