How To Carry Out Soda Machine Restoration

By Marcie Goodman

This is quite an important step when it comes to keeping these machines in order and in proper working condition. The first process of soda machine restoration begins with completely removing and disassembling all the nuts and bolts. This ensures that that the machine is separated into the smallest components to enable easy cleaning and changing of the required parts.

Bead blasting is what is done next in order to remove any grease, dirt and rust which are fond of sticking to metal surfaces. Through the use of compressed air, abrasive grits are blasted on to the material surface to help in the cleaning process. This results to a smooth surface of all the materials as the accumulated dirt and dust are done away with.

Power coating is then carried out on all the drums, liners of the shelves and cabinets to ensure that a rust proof and hard finish is accomplished. It also ensures that the final finish is as shinny as something new. It is better if this is started at the top while handling one section at a time until all the coating is done. Embossed lettering is then added on by painting in order to finish up this step.

Stripping is another important step which is done after determining that a proper chemical ratio has been mixed. This chemical is applied evenly as a coat from bottom to top, to avoid streaking. Special attention should be observed during stripping as this is the point where repair needs can be easily identified.

Placing energy insulation into the interior of the doors and the main unit is then carried out to ensure that the rubbers stay in the required places. Originality of your cooling system will depend on the manner in which it was insulated. This is the reason why better insulation should be carried out.

All chrome should also be polished, depending on the style of the soda machine. The steel screws and bolts that are used should be new and stainless to ensure durability. The bottles and can-stacks together with the shelves should be powder coated or plated with zinc in a correct manner. If this is not done correctly, it may interfere with the functioning procedure or bring about tolerance interference.

Coin mechanisms should also be thought of, to make sure that they are fully functioning just as new ones. Proper cleaning and inspection of these coins should be done to perfection for better results. There are a variety of dress-up decals and every customer has the pleasure of choosing which decal suits him or her. After considerable selection, the preferred standard decals are placed on the machine.

One other step in soda machine restoration is the fixing up of the refrigeration unit. This could be done by either restoring back the unit which was removed initially, or fixing up a new brand deck compressor. Restoring the initially used unit would not involve any extra expenses. Though fixing up a brand new deck compressor would result to extra money being used for the purchase.
