Whether it is for pleasure or business, traveling can be a lot of fun. It can also be more than a little bothersome. Planning for transportation, packing and finding a place to stay can add up and become incredibly stressful. Here are a few helpful tips to ease the burden a bit.

Keep important things in your carry on bag. You definitely do not want to lose your passport, prescribed medications or any other necessities you can't afford to travel without. Make sure you put these things aside, either on your person or safely inside a bag that you can bring aboard the plane with you.

Packing your suitcase smarter will enable you to bring more fun! The best way to maximize space in your luggage is to lay an item flat and roll it up. Roll as many things as you can and fit them closely together. Stuffing socks and underwear into your shoes will save you even more space.

Plan your packing. In these days of baggage fees and weight limits, most travelers carry one suitcase. To fit everything in, you need to be a smart packer. Check the weather forecast for your destination and choose outfits that you can mix and match. Opt for layers, which can easily be added or removed as the temperature changes. Also remember to wear your heavier/bulkier shoes so that they don't hog too much space in your luggage.

If you are squished for space while traveling by air, take advantage of every inch. Take the magazines out of the pocket in front of you and move them instead to the overhead bin. Depending on the size of the magazines, you could have bought yourself a couple of extra inches.

To wear adapted clothes while traveling, look up the weather in advance. Remember that you might not be used to extreme heat or cold if you live in a place with a mild climate. Bring various clothes with you and do not hesitate to buy new clothes in local stores.

Next time you're out on the town and looking to grab a bite, consider chowing down at the nearest Japanese restaurant. Fresh sushi and sashimi are full of protein, very low in fat, and also incredibly delicious. Salmon, for instance, is amazingly rich in vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids.
