Comparisons Between Coconut And Italian Tuscan Olive Oil

By Rob Sutter

I am sure that there are many individuals who know all too well the basics that are tied to Italian Tuscan olive oil. After all, there are so many different substances that can come into play and each of them, in my mind, are quite substantial. However, what is it that makes this oil so useful next to coconut oil, which is a commonly used type as well? What are some of the best comparisons that can help others to decide which of these two will be the best in the long term?

I am sure that most would consider coconut oil to be the best kind of cooking oil out there, especially when compared to Italian Tuscan olive oil. The reason for this is that the latter type of oil has a smoke point. What this means is that if the oil is heated above a certain level, it can go bad, meaning that not only does it taste and smell off but the antioxidants linked to it fade away as well. However, those who are smart about cooking can utilize it well, as companies like Bellucci Premium can tell you.

This does not mean that one type of oil can't be used more than another, provided you understand which dishes to create. From what I have seen, olive oil is far more useful in terms of baking, which is why there are quite a few cake recipes that call for it. By comparison, coconut oil is a bit better for sauting. Even though both categories are to be covered, where I feel the two oils vary are in their heart-healthy benefits, which is an important deciding factor.

As previously stated, the oil from olives is known for having a high amount of antioxidants, which are healthful to say the least. These are the types of components that are able to help the immune system in the best of ways. In fact, studies have shown that this oil, when implemented into the diet, can potentially help the brain so that it does not age as quickly. Coconut oil does not really have such antioxidants and its limited amount of 0.1 grams of monounsaturated fat does not help.

With these points kept in mind, it seems as though the oil from olives is the type of item that should be utilized more often. There are simply more healthful benefits, antioxidants and all, which help to make it stand out more so over the course of time. This isn't to say that coconut oil doesn't have its benefits, either, but I do not think that they are nearly as rooted in the idea of health. As you can see, there are much better options worth your time.
