The Best Travel Search Engines. All In One Easy Place

By Jordan Ebor

Now with the advent of the internet it is much easier to be able to customise your own travel plans and book everything you need online. Gone are the days when finding the best possible travel prices was the job specifically of a travel agent, as they were the only ones that had access to be able to book everything for you.

So you already know that the internet is one big world and there are plenty of travel related internet sites, with different sites offering everything from flights, hotels, vacation packages, tours, cruises, travel insurance, car hire, sightseeing trips, add-on activities, coach tours and more. What really makes online travel search cool is that it is now possible for anyone in Australia to book travel deals directly with online travel agents in the United States, Europe or Asia, by-passing the traditional method of using the prices that you can get from travel agents in their own country.

There are three main types of online travel search sites on the internet. The online travel agent, the metasearch/aggregator site and the travel comparison/review site.

An Online Travel Agent is essentially just like the traditional local bricks and mortar travel agent that you have in your hometown, except the major different is that you don't have to leave the comfort of your own home to make the bookings, you can do it all online in the one place. Also with the online travel agent you pretty much do it all yourself, so you can do as much research and search for dates, times, airlines and hotels looking for the best prices yourself. Some of the bigger online travel agencies that you might have heard of include Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline, Opodo and Hotwire.

Apparently the average consumer visits around four sites when shopping for flights online alone. You dont have to be Einstein to realise that the trend to book travel online will naturally continue especially in emerging economies. And oh how far have we come with the internet certainly making it easier and in some ways cheaper than using your traditional travel agent down the road.

But are you sick and tired of spending hours trying to find every possible airline, hotel and other travel site yourself? Would you prefer an easier way to be able to find the websites that have the best travel deals at the best possible prices?
