Many people choose to use salt and pepper as their scrambled egg seasoning. However, there are a multitude of other seasonings that combine well with the taste of eggs. There are many different herbs that really enhance their flavor as well as numerous spices. Cheeses, meats and even vegetables may also be used effectively to create meals suitable to be eaten any time of the day.

When attempting to scramble eggs, a gentle heat is required. Once the butter in the pan is foaming, the whisked eggs may be added. Push the mixture from the sides gently into the middle of the pan. There many different variations on this method. However, the goal is a light, fluffy texture. It is no good trying to disguise rubbery or watery eggs with seasoning.

Many different spices can be used to give eggs a kick. Dice in some green chillies or put some salsa on the side or on top. Even curry can be added for those who enjoy Indian flavors. However, a simple pinch of paprika or cayenne pepper is also effective.

The flavors of many herbs work well together with eggs. They may be chopped and sprinkled into the mixture or used for garnishing. Parsley and basil work well for garnishing. Many people enjoy the taste of garlic and this works well together with mixed herbs. If you are looking for an Italian flavor, add oregano and thyme and a slice of tomato.

Fresh vegetables may also be used to season eggs. Onions, mushrooms and chopped bell peppers provide color as well as contributing healthy anti-oxidants. Spinach works well too if it is sauteed or steamed first. Tomatoes, peppers and green onions make a good combination, especially when seasoned with some feta.

Eggs love most cheeses. They combine well and taste sensational together. Do not add cheese too early on in the cooking process or it will be stringy. Meat is another way to bump up the protein content of this meal even more. Bacon bits, ham and even sausage combine perfectly with the egg. Just remember not to add extra salt as these ingredients contain plenty of sodium.

Scrambling some eggs is one of the easiest ways to create a meal but adding certain seasonings can make this into a gourmet treat. For example, simply add cream cheese, a few slices of cheddar and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve with an English muffin and this will be enjoyed by any foodie. Some capers, roasted red peppers or sun-dried tomatoes can also help to add that gourmet touch. Chives and smoked salmon is another favorite.

Eggs are high in protein and provide a cheap, easy meal. Cook them perfectly, add the right scrambled egg seasoning and you have the perfect meal. Using herbs, spices, vegetables, meats and cheeses offers many possible combinations of flavors. Learn how to use these effectively and you will never be at a loss as to what to serve to your family or guests.
