Make Your Own Celiac Bagels

It's not easy to live with gluten intolerance. In fact, it's not easy to live with any type of food intolerance, and it's not cheap neither. There are some replacements for bread, milk or other types of food, but these replacements are mostly expensive. Well, sometimes you might also say they aren't very tasty either. And you can easily make some foods in your kitchen.

Although most bakeries offer a large variety of breads, the one prepared in your own kitchen will surely be the most delicious. You do not have to have your own bread maker to prepare excellent bread. Making delicious celiac bagels is also very easy, and you will surely enjoy your products endlessly. Not to mention the perfect aroma of freshly made bread in your home.

Of course, the basic food for preparing this treat is high quality gluten-free flour. You can use your favorite type or combine several different types until you find the one that suits you best. With a small amount of gluten-free starch, your treats will be even lighter and more delicious. Also, you will need some dry yeast, some baking powder, a little bit of milk, salt and lukewarm water.

This recipe is really simple and easy. Take three cups of selected flour, a little bit of sugar, salt, dry yeast and some baking powder. Mix it all together and add lukewarm water, milk and oil. Make a dough, cover it and let it rise. It will take for about thirty minutes or so.

Make larger or smaller circles of dough, cut a hole in each and place these dough rings on oiled baking paper to rise again. Boil salted water and cook each ring for maybe twenty seconds. Place your rings back on oiled baking paper and preheat the oven. It takes for about twenty minutes to bake your bagels, bu it sometimes depends on their size.

Of course, you can add any type of delicious seeds in your dough, such as sesame, chopped pumpkin seeds or chopped nuts, hazelnuts, pieces of dried fruit or a few poppy seeds. If you want to prepare sweet rolls, just add more sugar to your dough. If you want, you can even add an egg, why not. With an addition of cinnamon, dry ginger or a pinch of vanilla, this can make a perfect simple dessert.

If you add an egg or two, it will make a great difference. On the other side, replace eggs with chia seeds to get this valuable protein this way instead. When using chia seeds for this recipe, soak them in lukewarm water first, and then use this water for making the dough. Chia is highly valuable source of protein, and your organism needs this protein every day.

If you use your own little breads primarily for the preparation of delicious sandwiches, here are a few ideas to make them more interesting. In the batter you can add grated cheese and olive oil, various aromatic herbs such as sage, basil or oregano, hot peppers, chopped dried tomatoes or a combination of these ingredients.
