Carlsbad - A Surfing Beach Town Lost In Time

Known as The Village by the Sea, Carlsbad has beautiful sandy beaches, three unique lagoons, two luxurious resorts, outstanding shopping and world class sporting events.

The North County beach communities include Solana Beach, Encinitas and Cardiff By The Sea. Each community is offers magnificent ocean views and cooling sea breezes.

Legoland is a big attraction for families visiting the town. The park is alive with color and is a very pleasant theme parks for parents - as well as the kids! The lines are short compared to Disneyland and the atmosphere is comparatively relaxed for a theme park. The landscaping is lovely and parents appreciate the healthy caf with great choices.

Here are world class beaches. The State Beach runs from Tamarack Avenue all the way along the beach to downtown. There's sandy beach below and a great sidewalk along the bluff tops for sunset strolls and people watching. A little further to the south is Ponto Beach (the locals call it South Ponto). You will find a state campground on top of the bluff overlooking the ocean with stairs to the beach below.

A popular attraction is the Flower Fields. On an incredibly beautiful site overlooking the Pacific Ocean, hundreds of thousands of brilliant colored blossoms adorn the hillsides from March through May every year. The sight is so absolutely mesmerizing that tens of thousands of flower lovers tour the fields each spring to walk among the flowers.

Hotels and inns consist of all the big chains including Motel 6, Days Inn, Holiday Inn, Courtyard by Marriott. There are delightful Bed and Breakfasts.

If you're looking for luxury, the Four Seasons Aviara Resort is a 225 acre Spanish-style luxury resort placed on a bluff carpeted with wildflowers overlooking the Batiquitos Lagoon. Its Arnold Palmer-signature golf course is impeccably designed and laid out around the natural rolling hills of the resort. The Aviara golf course features water traps that are actually part of Batiquitos lagoon. You will find that the clubhouse offers every amenity that serious golfers enjoy and occasional duffers feel pampered by.
