I have been living in Thailand for about two years now and wanted to do an article on Pattaya. I have spent a good amount of time in the city and surrounding area. Pattaya has gotten a reputation for a city of fun and well let's just say adult entertainment. Yes, this is very true and it can be very wild, there is another side of Pattaya.
Some of the most fun that I have had in Thailand has been at some of Pattaya's family attractions. There is not any shortage of fun things worth doing in Pattaya that's totally certain. When I originally came to Thailand and begin to see all the families and young couples walking the street. I asked the question why are they in Pattaya?
A walk on Beach Street will begin to answer that question. As you walk down the street you look out and see many boats, parasailing, swimming, nice restaurants, people are taking cruises. So I took a boat tour and it included; fishing, eating, parasailing, Island jumps, snorkeling and much more. I was really impressed and met a lot of very nice people. One Chinese guy invited me to come stay at his house in China. Wow, I have never been to China, maybe I'll take up on his offer someday.
I found a place called the Million Year Stone Park and Crocodile Farm. This place is a genuine trip if you've not seen it. There may be more than thirty thousand crocodiles there alone and you can feed them chicken on a fishing pole. There's a crocodile show that's superb and at the end I had my picture taken sitting on ten foot crocodile, what am I able to say, when in Rome. There are numerous animals there ; tigers, elephants, bears, birds, and a great deal more. There are tigers and yes, it's possible to get your picture taken petting a live Tiger as well.
There is a place to bungee twine jump which is something, I wanted to do all my life. Thus I paid my charge and took my first jump. Glaringly it's a rush like no other I have experienced. They were intensely nice and the jump went well until the rope snapped, only joking. Everything was fine and I had a good time.
I love golf and Pattaya is a golfer's paradise. There are many very nice coursed in the general area and they reasonably priced. One thing about golfing is you always meet people if you show up alone. They supply the caddy, which is usually a very nice young lady. You can take a cart or walk. I would suggest taking the golf cart, because some of the courses are spread out over a large area. Hey, if you like exercise, have at it.
This really is just the short list of things to do in Pattaya. Like I said the night life is like nowhere else in the world. Just use some common sense and respect the King, because he has earned it.
