Modern day travel now includes heading off to places which before where beyond our reach. We would not dream of taking a plane journey which was over a couple of hours but now we are able to travel to any part of the world now at a low cost compared to time gone by. With long haul travel comes jet lag. This is when your body feels out of sync with the rest of you and may take about 1 week to recover depending on what you plans are.
Avoid any tea or coffee on the plane and drink plenty of water. Sounds good advise but how many of us actually listen to this. By avoiding the caffeine drinks you will be able to keep your body hydrated instead of dehydrated which would happen if a lot of caffeine enters your body. By going for a nap on the plane whether long or a short cap nap you body will begin to sync into your new time zone. Moving your watch forward to the time of arrival will also help your mind adjust to your new time. Sleeping might also take the boredom out of flying long haul as there are only so many films you can watch on your computer screen. Most travellers will not advise taking pills to make you sleep.
It is easy to fall asleep when you are jet lagged as your body just wants to catch up on sleep. Develop an exercise routine which will stimulate your body and mind and keep you awake. By slowing adding exercise and sleep routine to your day you will be able to fight the jet lag quickly.
Travellers can try and invent some new exercises to keep all your muscles moving and subtle when you are sitting down or even standing in a shop queue take the time to exercise and your body will benefit.
